Measure for
Measure

By William Shakespeare

A class at an all girls correctional school takes their abusive teacher hostage and performs Measure for Measure to pass the time, slowly becoming more immersed in the story as the police close in.

The goal of the lighting was to highlight the intense emotions of adolescent girls as they fight gender norms and struggle to make sense of one of Shakespeare’s problem plays.
